Joe Kurtenbach
Raised in rural Iowa, Joe developed the discipline and drive that shaped his career in service. He graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy and later earned a master’s degree from Georgetown University.
Joe went on to serve as a U.S. Navy SEAL, deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, and East Africa. His responsibilities ranged from leading combat operations against ISIS in Iraq to planning missions targeting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Following his military service, Joe earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He then joined Golden Gate Capital as a private equity investor, leading investments in consumer and business services.
Joe and his wife, Vaughn, have two children.
Building on this foundation of operational leadership and investment experience, Joe established Ames Capital Partners to acquire and operate one business.
